Tampa Bay Rays perform Exorcism..... posted on 10/20/2008
First off, I tip my hat to Joe Maddon and the Rays for not only their first AL Pennat, but for being a class act team. I have to be honest and admit that at the begining of the season I could name maybe 3 players on the team. While following them through the Playoffs (My Astros came up short) I have been thoroughly impressed with this team. Hitting, Pitching, Toughness, a bull-pen second to none, and one hell of a manager.
The Rays have not only knocked the "DEVIL" out of their logo, but have successfully knocked out all opposing teams on the way. Competing in MLB's toughest division, AL East, they fought their way to the top and remained there off-on all season, mostly on.
The Rays remind me of the 1970's A's, for their gritty play, and willing ability to throw-down with any team willing to step up. Their Red Sox's fights this season have etched memories in my mind. Carl Crawford's drop kick will remain at the top of those memories. True Grit=Tampa Bay....

New York Yankees Joba Chamberlain DUI........... posted on 10/20/2008
Joba Chamberlain, Yankees next big thing, Hype of the century, and he lived up to it, was arrested Sunday October 19th in his hometown of Lincoln, Nebraska.
Joba was pulled over for speeding, by Nebraska State Troopers, obviously not a Yankees fan, while speeding(allegedly). The officer smelled the odor of alochol, and arrested the 23 year old phenom for DUI. This is Jobas first brush with the law, and we hope he learns his lesson. Drinking and driving is not tolerated.
No court dates have been set yet, and the Yankees have yet to comment on the situation.

Houston Astros need Peavy!!! posted on 10/20/2008
Okay, first of all let me say this-THE ASTROS NEED PITCHING!!
Last week it was confirmed that Jake Peavy, San Diego's Ace pitcher, would be interested in talks of becoming an Astro. Peavy, 27 years old, bouncing back from an elbow injury last season, sounds to me like an opportunity to make a major boost to Houston's struggling staring rotation.
Peavy, the NL CY Yound award winner in 2007, posted a 19-6 record with 240 K's and an impressive 2054 ERA, sound to me a great fit, considering he already has a friend in Ace Roy Oswalt, and while earning 4 mil. last season, the Astros should be able to make room in the old budget for him.
When looking at the Astros line-up, it is impressive all the way through, Berkman, Pence, Lee, Tejada, Bourne, Matsui, and Loretta give this team all the pop they need, and with added pitching experience should compete strongly for a Division title, and a Pennat.
